The Sacred Heart of Jesus

Sacred Heart Day 11

The clean of hands and pure of heart will dwell on the mountain of God

Ps 24: 3-4 Who will go up to the mountain of Yahweh? Who will take a stand in his holy place?  The clean of hands and pure of heart, whose heart is not set on vanities, who does not swear an oath to deceive.

God is inviting us to come to heaven, where He lives. The Lord has asked us to fulfill a condition in order to live on the holy mountain. We should have clean hands, which means no physical or mental sins that displease our Lord. The Lord is blessing us to go up to the mountain of the Lord. He invites us to live with Him, with clean hands and a pure heart. There is one requirement that does not entail taking an oath to lie our Lord. When we resolve to go up to the mountain of the Lord, we shouldn't be allowed to any worldly pleasures. Never commit any treachery against God that would falsify an oath we took with Him. Approaching our Living God requires a holy and pure heart. Do not forget the vow we made to God.

Matthew 5:3 (NJB): How blessed are the poor in spirit: the kingdom of Heaven is theirs. We should have a spirit of humility and gentleness. Always have the mind of nothingness or poverty in spirit and petition the Lord for mercy. How is it possible for us to view heaven? We may believe it is far away and that we cannot approach unless we die. However, the Lord will provide us the grace to see glimpses of paradise while we are on earth. Many narrow pathways may appear in our lives to confuse our faith. Many people will persecute us despite our righteousness, but God will witness all of our sorrows and will not abandon us. Matthew 5:10 (NJB): 10  Blessed are those who are persecuted in the cause of uprightness: the kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
