The Sacred Heart of Jesus

The Sacred Heart Cathedral, properly the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and also known as the Stone Chamber or Stone House by locals,[2] is a Gothic Revival Roman Catholic cathedral in Guangzhou, China. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Guangzhou. The cathedral is located at 56 Yide Road (in Chinese: 一德路56号), on the north bank of the Pearl River at the heart of the old district. It is one of the few cathedrals in the world to be entirely built of granite, including all the walls, pillars, and the twin towers.

Lord, we trust in You, Your Heart is precious for us. You pour on us Your love and Mercy

   Ps 27: 3Though an army pitch camp against me, my heart will not fear, though war break out against me, my trust will never be shaken. When we believe our Lord is with us in our challenges, worries, sorrows, and persecutions, we will find peace and joy to conquer them.  If our hearts are united with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, we shall have no fear of anything, including pandemics, pain, or other obstacles. Even our adversaries' or evil army cannot defeat us. Our trust is in Him, and we should be confident in our faith rather than scared of the turmoil in the world.

Sacred Heart, Day 21

Lord, tear open my stone heart and melt it with your precious blood, Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. 

  Joel 2: 13 Tear your hearts and not your clothes, and come back to Yahweh your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, rich in faithful love, and he relents about inflicting disaster. We should tear our hearts out, accompanied by deep groans and frustrations. Whatever wrongdoings separate us from God should be removed from our hearts. Remove pride, jealousy, malice, rage, and any other negative behaviours that cause hearts to be unclean. When we do things against God's will, He does not exact retribution on us; rather, His compassion and love mitigate His wrath against us. He relents in His displeasure and removes the disaster's destruction from humanity.

Lord, we pray to You to keep our hearts pure and holy

   Ps 17:3 You probe my heart, examine me at night, you test me by fire and find no evil. I have not sinned with my mouth 4 as most people do. Here, we ask to God to examine our conscience and to remove all wickedness from our hearts. Before we sleep, we must invoke our Lord and thank Him for everything He has done for us that day. Pray that the Lord cleanse our hearts and minds. The Psalmist claims that he has never committed any sin with his mouth. Controlling our tongue from dirty things can purify our heart. Only then can we ask to our Lord to test us with fire and find no evil in our hearts.

Sacred Heart, Day 19

 “Place all your hope in the Sacred Heart of Jesus; it is a safe asylum; for he who trusts in God is sheltered and protected by His mercy.” (St. Bernard)

   Ps 11:7 For Yahweh is upright and loves uprightness, the honest (the truthful heart) will ever see his face. God is upright, and He prefers upright and honest people. The Lord looks into our hearts, and He likes people who have true and honest hearts. The faithful and upright in heart shall see God's face. Jesus showers us with mercy at all times. Ps 51:10 God, create in me a clean heart, renew within me a resolute spirit.  Here Psalmist is praying to get a clean and pure heart from God. We have to be prudent and vigilant on our heart, it may be deviate if we don't gain the knowledge and wisdom from the teachings of Jesus.

   Ps 7:10 God is a shield that protects me, saving the honest of heart. Life on Earth is a battlefield, and it will continue until we die. What is the battlefield? It is the combat between good and evil within us, both materially and spiritually, and God protects us. Those with an honest heart will be saved.

  Lord, protect us and give us an honest heart. We are really feeble, Lord; give us Your power. Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, genuinely present in Holy Eucharist, we consecrate our body and soul to be completely united with Your Heart, being sacrificed at all times on all the world's altars and giving thanks to the Father, pleading for the arrival of His Kingdom.

Sacred Heart, Day 17

Lord, help me to follow You, and find rest in Your Heart!

   Ps 19: 12-14 But who can detect his own failings? Wash away my hidden faults. And from pride preserve your servant, never let it be my master. So shall I be above reproach, free from grave sin. May the words of my mouth always find favour, and the whispering of my heart, in your presence, Yahweh, my rock, my redeemer. It's a great prayer to say every day. We cannot discover our own flaws and shortcomings; only God can see our hidden sins. So we should ask God to forgive our secret sins. Let our words and deeds be acceptable in the face of our Lord.

Lord, wash away my secret sins and keep me from being prideful. Never let pride become my master. Lord, save me from my severe sins, which are not concealed from you. May the words I speak always find favor in your presence. Lord, listen to my heart's whispers and prayers in your presence; you are my redeemer and rock.

Sacred Heart, Day 16

   Ps 57: 7-11 My heart is ready, God, my heart is ready; I will sing, and make music for you.  Awake, my glory, awake, lyre and harp, that I may awake the Dawn.  I will praise you among the peoples, Lord, I will make music for you among nations, for your faithful love towers to heaven, your constancy to the clouds. Be exalted above the heavens, God! Your glory over all the earth! Psalmist is praying and he rejoice as his heart is ready to sing a new song to our Lord, God. In the morning, He awake us to praise Him and thank Him, for all the blessing He has given to us. The love should overflow our heart and mind like a hymn of praise for our Lord and King. Once we realize real presence of our God in our heart, we will not stop singing for Him, praising to Him an glorifying Him. Remember the hymn we all know, be exalted, Oh God, above the Heavens, let Your glory, let Your glory, over all the earth………

Lord, let our hearts sing new songs of praise and glorify You. ‘I will make music for You among all the nations on the earth. Lord, Your faithful love stands like towers to heaven and Your constancy beyond the clouds.’
