The Word of God

Word of God, Today On 3rd August 2024

(2 Co 2:14–17).But, thanks be to God who always gives us in Christ a part in his triumphal procession, and through us is spreading everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of himself. To God we are the fragrance of Christ, both among those who are being saved and among those who are on the way to destruction; for these last, the of death leading to death, but for the first, the smell of life leading to life. Who is equal to such a task? At least we do not adulterate the word of God, as so many do, but it is in all purity, as envoys of God and in God’s presence, that we speak in Christ.

This Word of God enables us to include Jesus in our daily lives. He grants us the triumphant ownership of his grace in order to disseminate the fragrance of self-knowledge. For God, we are the fragrance of Christ, spreading the Gospel to all people regardless of caste, creed, wealth, or poverty. Jesus is for everyone, and he shines among all of us. He has given us the light to see our way out of the darkness that is leading to death. When we are unwilling to receive the knowledge of Christ and his grace, we are on the verge of disaster. Whatever duty our Lord has assigned to us must be used for the glory of God.

St. Paul emphasizes here that we should not argue against God's word. Many preachers and spiritual leaders pervert the Word of God or give misleading reflections, leading the faithful astray and making them impure. Those who work for the Lord and his kingdom should not distort the Word of God. So we should serve as God's envoys, be in His presence, and continually declare the truth in Christ.

The Word of God

Word of God, Today on 2nd August 2024

Rm 6: 12-14 That is why you must not allow sin to reign over your mortal bodies and make you obey their desires; or give any parts of your bodies over to sin to be used as instruments of evil. Instead, give yourselves to God, as people brought to life from the dead, and give every part of your bodies to God to be instruments of uprightness; and then sin will no longer have any power over you—you are living not under law, but under grace.

We should not allow our bodies to be used for evil. He will govern us by seducing us to do things that Jesus, our Lord, does not approve of. We should glorify God via our body. Use our bodies as God's instruments to carry out His will, wherever He places us. The ideal world model for working in God's kingdom differs significantly. Humility comes with holiness. To reach the Promised Land, you must grieve with anguish over your sins. "Holiness of Life" by St. Boneventure. Most of the time, we overlook to do our daily spiritual exercises. Whatever we commit to doing, we must do it consistently. In this way of examinations of conscience, we are not far away from the grace of God

The Precious Blood of Jesus

Today is the last day of July and this month we remembered the Precious Blood of Jesus which became our salvation. Only through the Blood of Jesus we receive the redemption and we receive the remission of our sins. How blessed we are, as we have the Eternal Priest who shed his own blood for us and purchased us with His Precious Blood, which is having the highest redemptive value on earth and in Heaven. Let us thank the Heavenly Father as He brought us His only Son to be sacrificed on the Cross as a true libation as it was His heavenly plan for our salvation..

Precious Blood of Jesus, Part XXII

Jesus said, this cup is the New Covenant in my Blood.

1 Corinthians 11:23–27 (NJB): 23 For the tradition I received from the Lord and also handed on to you is that on the night he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread, 24 and after he had given thanks, he broke it, and he said, ‘This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ 25 And in the same way, with the cup after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Whenever you drink it, do this as a memorial of me.’ 26 Whenever you eat this bread, then, and drink this cup, you are proclaiming the Lord’s death until he comes. 27 Therefore anyone who eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily is answerable for the body and blood of the Lord.

St Paul spoke here about the Eucharist, which Jesus established as the Eternal Covenant and which we have received as a tradition. He acquired this information from the Lord. We all believe in this tradition and hence attend Holy Mass. We join the Priest in consecrating the bread and wine, which become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. We all do this to remember Jesus' death and resurrection. He has given us his flesh, his Body, to eat and drink, and the wine becomes his Blood after the priest consecrates it. Through his Precious Blood, Jesus established the New Everlasting Covenant in eternity.

So, whenever we attend the Holy Mass and receive Holy Communion, we should examine ourselves and our unworthiness. We must reconcile with the Lord before consuming him; else, we will be held responsible for the Body and Blood of Jesus our Lord!

The Precious Blood of Jesus

Precious Blood of Jesus, Part XXI

Lord Jesus, we humbly implore you to protect us by your Precious Blood,

Matthew 27:24–26 (NJB): So he took some water, washed his hands in front of the crowd and said, ‘I am innocent of this man’s blood. It is your concern.’ 25 And the people, every one of them, shouted back, ‘Let his blood be on us and on our children!’ 26 Then he released Barabbas for them. After having Jesus scourged he handed him over to be crucified.

When Pilate was about to pronounce his decision on Jesus, he considered not condemning him to death. Pilate told the Jews that he was innocent of Jesus' blood.  But the Jews were not ready to free Jesus; instead, they wanted to kill and crucify him. They all yelled and exclaimed, "Let the Blood of Jesus be on us and our children." The Jews were unwilling to release Jesus, the innocent, but Jesus was regarded as a convict. The Jews were prepared to accept God's judgment on their children for Jesus' killing. Jews never made any compromises on Jesus' crucifixion. The Jews were responsible for Jesus' execution, and he spilled his Precious Blood on all humanity to rescue us unconditionally,.

Lord Jesus, we humbly ask you to defend us with your Precious Blood and deliver us from all the hatred and wickedness of this world.

The Precious Blood of Jesus

Precious Blood of Jesus, Part XX

Jesus poured out the Blood and Water from his heart, his love, mercy and grace

John 19:34–37 (NJB): one of the soldiers pierced his side with a lance; and immediately there came out blood and water. 35 This is the evidence of one who saw it—true evidence, and he knows that what he says is true—and he gives it so that you may believe as well. 36 Because all this happened to fulfil the words of scripture: Not one bone of his will be broken; 37 and again, in another place scripture says: They will look to the one whom they have pierced.

Following the crucifixion, the Jews requested that Pilate break Jesus' legs and remove his body off the cross. It was their custom not to hang bodies on crosses on the Sabbath. When they arrived at Jesus, he was already dead. They discovered him dead, so they did not break his leg. One of the soldiers wounded his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water flowed out. Jesus' love and grace have poured out of his heart to cleanse and purify all of us and all of humanity in the past, present, and future until eternity. Even though Jesus is dead, he may preserve his life in his body because he is our Lord and God. I remembered a Word of God that Br Victor mentioned in the sermon, which is 1 John 1:7 (NJB): we have a share in another’s life, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. Br says: “the life is always existing in the blood, so in the Blood of Jesus has life.” St John here says he is the witness of this event and the prophecy of Zachariah has fulfilled here, “They will mourn for the one whom they pierced as though for an only child and weep for him as people weep for a first born child”Zechariah 12:10
