Part XII

Lord, teach us to serve you in eternity.

Hebrews 9:11–14 (NJB): “But now Christ has come, as the high priest of all the blessings which were to come. He has passed through the greater, the more perfect tent, not made by human hands, that is, not of this created order; 12 and he has entered the sanctuary once and for all, taking with him not the blood of goats and bull calves, but his own blood, having won an eternal redemption. 13 The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkled on those who have incurred defilement, may restore their bodily purity. 14 How much more will the blood of Christ, who offered himself, blameless as he was, to God through the eternal Spirit, purify our conscience from dead actions so that we can worship the living God”. Our Lord Jesus Christ, the High Priest came to make everything new. He abolished the old law of the sacrifice of offering animals, instead created the New Covenant by offering Himself as sacrifice by shedding His own Blood. He entered the sanctuary one and for all with his own Blood and won the eternal redemption for all humanity. The sacrifices of animals, only do the restoration of impurities of human body. Jesus Christ is the one and only sacrifice, by Himself shedding His own Blood. He made it through the eternal Spirit to purify our conscience from the dead actions. Jesus made Himslef available eternally in the sanctuary in Blessed Sacrament. This way we are able to worship the living God.

Lord, let our offering always with humble and contrite heart.

Be confident by faith in the Blood of Jesus 

We have then, brothers, complete confidence through the blood of Jesus in entering the sanctuary, by a new way which he has opened for us, a living opening through the curtain, that is to say, his flesh (Heb 10:19–20 NJB)

 When Holy Spirit allows us to enter His temple through the priests' and people's prayers during the Divine Liturgy. Some Eastern Catholic churches use curtains to separate the altar and sanctuary. The curtain depicts Jesus' flesh, or Body, through which he granted us the freedom to express our religion. Jesus has removed the barrier between us and given us a new way to approach him and dwell in his presence. We now have the bravery to join His Kingdom because he opened the door by his own sacrifice of shedding his own blood. There is no remission of sin except through the Precious Blood of Jesus.

God’s Word will make us differentiate between the Light and Darkness 

We should hear the Word of God constantly. Through hearing Jesus’ Words our faith will increase. ‘But it is in that way faith comes, from hearing, and that means hearing the word of Christ.’ Rom. 10: 17 The Word of God can always strengthen us through our relationships with our brothers. Their efforts for me were very much encouraging me to embrace the Charism of Br Victor. In the earlier years of my association with Brothers (CG) I was listening to Brothers’ audio talks in cassettes, and I would listen to one of Br. Victor's talks before going to bed. We should hear and read the Word of God as a daily practice. When we read the Word of God with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can hear Jesus' voice. We should always remember that we are still babies and cannot eat hard foods. Br. Victor frequently speaks about this Word of God. ‘And so, brothers, I was not able to talk to you as spiritual people; I had to talk to you as people still living by your natural inclinations, still infants in Christ; I fed you with milk and not solid food, for you were not yet able to take it—and even now, you are still not able to, for you are still living by your natural inclinations………’1Cor. 3: 1-3. First, we should get rid of all kinds of natural inclinations. We are not like worldly people and now we are different from them. God has chosen us for a special purpose that is to glorify Him and work for the eternal life as our inheritance from God. ‘All the scriptures are inspired by God and useful for refuting error, for guiding people’s lives and teaching them to be upright. This is someone who is dedicated to God becomes fully equipped and ready for any good work.’ (2Tim. 3: 16-17) God's Word will correct all of our transgressions. It will help us discriminate between darkness and light, but we must immerse in God's Word. It will lead us down the proper path in choosing and carrying out God's will. We shall be able to do all of the good works that God has entrusted to us. We must recognise the significance of prophecy, which is a true work of the Holy Spirit as showed by His own words. The words are inspired not by human wisdom, but by the Holy Spirit, who always inspires us. ‘At the same time, we must recognise that the interpretation of scriptural prophecy is never a matter for the individual. For no prophecy ever came from human initiative. When people spoke for God it was the Holy Spirit that moved them.’ (2Pet. 1: 20-21)

Lord, You shed Your own Blood to expiate all kind of our sins.

Leviticus 16:15–16 (NJB): He will then slaughter the goat for the sacrifice for the sin of the people, and take its blood inside the curtain, and with this blood do as he did with the blood of the bull, sprinkling it on the mercy-seat and in front of it. 16 This is how he must perform the rite of expiation for the sanctuary for the uncleanness of the Israelites, for their acts of rebellion and all their sins. The Altar and God's Mercy Seat must be well cleansed and purified. The High Priest Aron must slaughter the goat as a sacrifice and sprinkle the blood on the Mercy Seat. Blood has the power to expiate sins, showing God's mercy on His people. While Aron sprinkles the blood, the sanctuary will be cleansed of all forms of uncleanness caused by Israelites' sins and rebellion against God and His commands. Sins cannot be expiated without the shedding of blood. The blood shed by Jesus will purify all who believe in him for future generations.

Lord, you bled your own blood to atone for all our sins by offering your own life as an eternal sacrifice. Lord, Purify and cleanse me with Your Precious Blood.

Precious Blood of Jesus, Part IX

Lord, we have sinned against You, have mercy on us. 

Matthew 27:4 (NJB): I have sinned. I have betrayed innocent blood.’ They replied, ‘What is that to us? That is your concern.’ Judas understood he had sinned against the innocent victim, who was Jesus. However, he was too late to recognize this. He did not return to our Lord to repent for his misdeeds. But he hanged himself to end his life without consulting our Lord. We can see that evil is speaking to Judas through the high priests and other prominent Jewish leaders; all topics about Jesus' agony and death are of no importance to them. Everything Jews have done is in accordance with Evil's design. It is to kill Jesus and disrupt God's purpose of salvation for the Jews and the entire world. Jews claim that nothing is their concern. 

But why are we concerned about Jesus crucified? He shed his own blood to grant us salvation. The artwork on this page depicts how many people became saints following Jesus' death and resurrection. They are gorgeous flowers from His garden, spreading fragrance across the globe long after they die. God has honored them from the beginning to make them servants of His Garden. 

Lord, forgive our sins and grant us salvation.
