Journey to Emmaus Poem 40

Dear Brothers and Sisters this poem wrote on sixtieth B’ Day in 2019. Please pray for me to get the heart of Mother Mary the humble heart where our Lord resides

 Journey to Emmaus

Lord, while your disciples were walking to Emmaus, I was with them.
But I was not counted as your disciple.
Lord, we were talking about you on the way,
And you accompanied us in our journey.

You asked what we were talking about and our faces were downcast.
Unknowingly we said that you are the only one unaware about the happenings in Jerusalem.
About Jesus of Nazareth, who showed himself a prophet,
powerful in action and speech, before God and the whole people;

Our chief priests and leaders sentenced him to death.
They crucified him mercilessly.
We hoped that he would be the one to set Israel free.
And this is not all: two whole days have now gone by, since it all happened;

Some women from our group astounded us:
They went to the tomb in the early morning,
They could not find the body and they came back to tell us;
That they had a vision of angels who declared he was alive.

Some of our friends went to the tomb.
They saw everything exactly as the women witnessed.
They could not see anything except the clothes which covered the body of Jesus.
This seemed unbelievable to us, we don't think he has been taken away or risen.

Jesus said, you foolish men, you are so slow to believe.
You don't understand what prophets have said about Jesus.
Wasn’t it inevitable for Christ to suffer before entering his glory?
I will walk you through the teachings of Moses and all the prophets.

Did Moses not tell you this: 'from among yourselves, from among your own brothers,
Yahweh your God will raise up a prophet like me; you will listen to him.
Again Lord said to Moses, what they have said is well said.
From their own brothers I shall raise up a prophet like yourself;

Listen again to what Isaiah says about Christ,
Lord told 'Ahaz; Listen now, House of David:
Are you not satisfied with trying human patience
That you should try my God’s patience too?

The Lord will give you a sign in any case:
It is this: the young woman is with child.
She will give birth to a son whom she will call Immanuel.
He who is the Saviour of the world brings salvation to all nations.

You are very slow to believe, again Isaiah says: For a son has been born for us,
A son has been given to us, and dominion has been laid on his shoulders;
These are the names he has been given,
‘Wonder-Counsellor, Mighty-God, Eternal-Father, Prince-of-Peace’

To extend his dominion in boundless peace,
Over the throne of David and over his kingdom,
To make it secure and sustain it in fair judgement and integrity.
From this time onwards and forever, the jealous love of Yahweh Sabaoth will do this.

When Jesus was born, Herod wanted to kill the baby.
He killed all the new born,
All the male children in Bethlehem, two years old and below
And all of them in Judaea.
In the Book of Jeremiah, Yahweh says this: A voice is heard in Ramah,
Lamenting and weeping bitterly:
It is Rachel weeping for her children,
Refusing to be comforted for her children, because they are no more.
Rachel from the grave lamented as she was buried in Bethlehem.

But God saved Jesus, because He is His beloved Son
who was to fulfil the Heavenly Father’s plan of Eternal Covenant and Salvation.
He was taken away by his father and mother to Egypt.
As prophesied In Hosea, Lord says this: When Israel was a child I loved him,
And I called my son out of Egypt.

The sufferings and hardships of his father and mother are indescribable.
The travel to Egypt is not within a small distance.
Joseph, his foster father, took care of him more than a real father.
When he was born, his mother and father did not even have a house to give him birth.

Again in book of Jeremiah, Lord said; In those days and at that time,
I shall make an upright Branch grow for David,
who will do what is just and upright in the country.
In those days Judah will triumph, and Israel live in safety.

And this is the name the city will be called: Yahweh-is-our-Saving-Justice.”
‘For Yahweh says this, “David will never lack a male descendant
To occupy the throne of the House of Israel,
His reign will remain forever and ever, who is he? Jesus Christ!

Haven’t you read in Psalms: 'I will proclaim the decree of YahwehY'all
He said to me, ‘You are my son, today have I fathered you.
Ask of me, and I shall give you the nations as your birthright,
While the whole wide world as your possession.“

Read in the Book of Mica, Lord told about the birth of Jesus:
But you (Bethlehem) Ephrathah,
the least of the clans of Judah,
from you will come for me a future ruler of Israel
Whose origins go back to the distant past, to the days of old.
Hence Yahweh will abandon them
Only until she who is in labour gives birth,
Then those who survive of his race will be reunited to the Israelites.

Behold the price they paid for Jesus as you can read in the book of Zechariah:
'I then said to them, ‘If you see fit, give me my wages;
if not, never mind.’ So they weighed out my wages: thirty shekels
And it happened; one of his beloved disciples sold him for thirty shekels of silver.
Lord said to me, ‘Throw it to the smelter,
This princely sum at which they have valued me!’
Taking the thirty shekels of silver,
I threw them into the Temple of Yahweh, for the smelter.

Contemplate the sufferings of Jesus, 'Lord Yahweh has given me a disciple’s tongue,
For me to know how to give a word of comfort to the weary.
Morning by morning he makes my ear alert to listen like a disciple.
Lord Yahweh has opened my ears and I have not resisted,
I have not turned away and I have offered my back to those who struck me,
My cheeks to those who plucked my beard;
I have not turned my face away from insult and spitting.
Lord Yahweh comes to my help, this is why insult has not touched me,
This is why I have set my face like flint and know that I shall not be put to shame.
He who grants me saving justice is near!
Who will bring a case against me?
Let us appear in court together! Who has a case against me?
Let him approach me! Look, Lord Yahweh is coming to my help!
Who dares condemn me?
Look at them, all falling apart like moth-eaten clothes!
Which of you fears Yahweh and listens to his servant’s voice?
Which of you walks in darkness and sees no light?
Let him trust in the name of Yahweh and lean on his God!"

Isaiah again prophesied about his passion and our salvation:
He had no form or charm to attract us, no beauty to win our hearts;
He was despised, the lowest of men, a man of sorrows,
Familiar with suffering, one from whom, as it were, we averted our gaze, despised,
For whom we had no regard.

Yet ours were the sufferings he was carrying
And struck with affliction by God;
whereas he was being wounded for our rebellions,
He was crushed because of our guilt;
The punishment reconciling us fell on him,
We have been healed by his bruises.

We had all gone astray like a flock of sheep, each taking its own way,
Yahweh brought the acts of rebellion of all of us to bear on him.
He was ill-treated and afflicted, he never opened his mouth,
Like a lamb led to the slaughter-house,
Like a sheep dumb before its shearers, he never opened his mouth.
Forcibly, after sentence, he was taken.

Which of his contemporaries was concerned
At his having been cut off from the land of the living,
At his having been struck dead for his people’s rebellion?
He was given a grave with the wicked, and his tomb is with the rich,
Although he had done no violence, had spoken no deceit.

It was Yahweh’s good pleasure to crush him with pain;
If he gives his life as an offering for sins, he will see his offspring and prolong his life,
And through him Yahweh’s good pleasure will be done.
After the ordeal he has endured, he will see the light and be content.
By his knowledge, the upright one, my servant will justify many by
he taking their guilt on himself.

Hence I shall give him a portion with the many,
and he will share the booty with the mighty,
For having exposed himself to death
And for being counted as one of the rebellious,
Whereas he was bearing the sin of many and interceding for the rebellious.

Death of Jesus was approaching, as written Psalms,
Lord explains 'Do not hold aloof, for trouble is upon me,
And no one to help me!' none of his disciples besides him
'Many bulls are encircling me,

'Wild bulls of Bashan closing in on me.
Lions ravening and roaring
They open their jaws at me.
My strength is trickling away,
My bones are all disjointed,
my heart has turned to wax,
melting inside me.'

'My mouth is dry as earthenware,
My tongue sticks to my jaw.
You lay me down in the dust of death.
A pack of dogs surrounds me,
a gang of villains closing in on me
as if to hack off my hands and my feet. '

'I can count every one of my bones,
While they look on and gloat;
They divide my garments among them
And they cast lots for my clothing.'

But over the House of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem
I shall pour out a spirit of grace and prayer, and they will look to me.
They will mourn for the one whom they have pierced as though for an only child,
And weep for him as people weep for a first-born child.

See men, Jesus will be risen as mentioned in book of Hosea, the second day he will give us life
The third day God will raise Jesus from the grave
This man, who was put into your power
By the deliberate intention and foreknowledge of God,
You took and had crucified and killed by men outside the Law.
But God raised him to life, freeing him from the pangs of Hades;
For it was impossible for him to be held in its power since,
David says of him: I kept the Lord before my sight always,
For with him at my right hand nothing can shake me.
So my heart rejoiced my tongue delighted; my body, too, will rest secure,
For you will not abandon me to Hades or allow your holy one to see corruption

Again Psalmist David prophesying, I keep Yahweh before me always,
For with him at my right hand, nothing can shake me.
So my heart rejoices, my soul delights,
My body too will rest secure, for you will not abandon me to Sheol,
You cannot allow your faithful servant to see the abyss.
You will teach me the path of life, unbounded joy in your presence,
At your right hand delight for ever.
Yahweh declared to my Lord, ‘Take your seat at my right hand,
Till I have made your enemies your footstool.’
Lord has sworn to David, and will always remain true to his word,
‘I promise that I will set a son of yours upon your throne.

Lord, When we drew near to the village, to our destination,
you were about to part ways; but we pressed you to stay with us admitting that
Our hearts were burning with the love of God,
As you explained everything from Moses to the Prophets and Psalms.

Lord, you accepted our invitation join us for supper.
We brought for you the fresh bread and wine
Then you took the bread, and gave thanks,
You broke it and gave it to us, saying, ‘This is my body given for you;
Do this in remembrance of me.’
You did the same with the cup after supper, and said,
‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood poured out for you.”

Lord, through the breaking of the Bread, your body,
You were breaking the word of God for us.
This opened our eyes and we could see; Jesus
Lord, forgive our sins as we are unworthy to be your disciples

Lord, our eyes were deprived of seeing you.
Our eyes were blinded by the god of this world .
Our minds were boasting that we knew everything.
But our human knowledge cannot comprehend anything about your Kingdom.

Lord, our hearts were burning within as you talked and explained scriptures to us
Lord, indeed you are risen and we believe it.
Now, we are going to Jerusalem and all over the world to tell our brothers and sisters
That we have seen you and to share what you revealed to us while breaking the Word and the Bread.

You were always with us and gave us your Living Word
By mercy and grace, Heavenly Father had chosen us
To know you Lord, and to grow in the knowledge of Christ
But we still could not believe you

During your life on earth, you offered prayer and entreaty,
You cried with loud voice and with full of tears,
To the Heavenly Father who had the power to save you from death,
You heard the call of the Father with reverence.

You have done everything in obedience.
Despite being the Son, you went through sufferings;
And through the sufferings, you were perfected,
You became for all who obey him the source of eternal salvation.

Lord, you are the shepherd who willingly gave your own life for us.
When you were doing good things you didn’t show your greatness.
Even when after rising from the tomb you never showed your glory.
But you showed yourself to those who loved you abundantly.

Lord, you are the source of all the goodness.
You are sitting at the right hand of God the Father.
To intercede for us endlessly without counting our sins.
Lord, we love you, we believe you are risen Alleluia, Alleluia, Alle--Lu--iah!!!

The Greatest Offering, Corpus Christi Poem 41

The Greatest Offering; Corpus Christi
  The talk of Br Jacob on the day of Corpus Christi last week(June 20, 2019) again revived my enthusiasm to reflect on it. He stressed in his  talk eat the Body of Christ by chewing it. It was reminding me that Jesus wants again to crush Himself between our teethe, what a great love he has for us sinners, it is amazing. My real conversion to the Catholic Church is the Holy Mass and the Eucharist itself. It become the essence of my faith and if I miss a Holy Mass in a day I feel it's a sin against the will of God for me.

  In 2007 while we visited Holy Land, Lord has touched me in this way, we all went there to see the Synagogue of Capernaum. My mind was with full of joy and tears while I was visiting such places there together where  all mysteries of Gospels taken place in my heart. I thank our spiritual father Br Victor and our Brothers in Christ, whom were described about these mysteries through His unadulterated Word of God. And I believe in all these mysteries without any doubt.

  When we were reached in Capernaum, I immediately got out of the bus and ran with a great enthusiasm to the place where Jesus has proclaimed that beautiful and the most valuable Sermon about His Body and Blood. The John Gospel Chapter 6 is one of my favourite chapters in the whole of the Gospels. There is nothing more precious and valuable than the sacrifice of Holy Mass and Eucharist. For me that is the presence of God in our midst. The mystery of Eucharist was very much touched me in this specific Chapter 6 in the gospel of John.  The guide was explaining about the historical value of that ruined Synagogue of Capernaum. But I was not interested in it, I was went away from the crowd and I was just touching the walls of the Synagogue and was knocking on it whether any voice of Jesus was coming out from the walls, because I was thinking that the walls were the same when time of Jesus. The Synagogue in its ruin stage and very few of walls are remaining there . I was searching whether any of His foot print was visible there on the floor of the Synagogue. I was crying with joy in my heart. I am not aware of the Theological teaching of the Church about the Eucharist, but I feel the mysterious ways of God's immense mercy on humanity by giving His own Son as the everlasting sacrifice and Holy Mass and in which Lord has made the Everlasitng Covenant for all the humanity of the past, present and future, for the remission of sins.

  After that, Fr. Eugene has given the signal to the guide and said he will cover the spiritual part of that Synagogue and the mystery of the Eucharist which Jesus revealed here in this Temple. He took the Jerusalem Bible from me and read from the Gospel of John chapter 6. I was so touched by his preaching while he was explained about the mysteries of the Eucharist.

Lord, yours were the greatest of all the offerings,
Which You have given to us, Your Body and Blood.
You made this promise in the Synagogue of Capernaum
During the discourse of the Eucharist in this Temple.

Lord, you are the bread came down from Heaven;
The Eucharist, the Everlasting Eternal Covenant
Lord, you said, Heavenly Father has sent bread from Heaven,
In the form of Manna you gave to your people in the desert.

Lord said: It is my Father who gives you the Bread from Heaven,
The true Bread; from the Bread of God
Which comes down from Heaven and gives life to the world.
Lord, It is with the Bread you nourished Elijah in the desert

Lord, you are nourishing us day by day by your Body and Blood.
Lord I am thirsting for you.
You quench my thirst by giving me your Living Water.
Your Body, the Heavenly Bread, is the real food for me

Lord you again told us; 'I am the bread of life.
No one who comes to me will ever hunger;
No one who believes in me will ever thirst
Lord, we believe, we will never hunger and never thirst.

Lord, we have all heard this beautiful Sermon
Which is the essence of our faith in You
We believe in You, O' Lord, in each Holy Mass
You come into our midst to make this Most Holy Meal
Which is the gift of love from our Father in Heaven

'I am the bread of life, Your fathers ate manna in the desert and they are dead;
But this is the bread which comes down from heaven,
So that a person may eat it and not die.
I am the living bread which has come down from heaven.
Anyone who eats this bread will live for ever;
And the bread that I shall give is my flesh, for the life of the world'

Lord, You are the Bread of Life,
Come and embrace me and come into the depth of my heart
You have said to me, "no one who comes to me will ever hunger
No one who believes in me will ever thirst";
Lord, we have heard and we believe in You.

Lord, you said: It is My Father's will, that whoever sees the Son
And believes in Him will have eternal life,
And I will raise him, and I will raise him on the last day.
I am the Bread that has come down from heaven.
Lord, we have heard and we believe in You.

Lord, Your Body was broken for us.
You shed your Blood for us.
Lord You said "no one can come to me
Unless drawn by the Father who sent me".
Lord, we have heard and we believe in You

Lord, when you said 'I am the bread that has come down from heaven",
We all did not believe that you are the only One who can give the Bread of life;
All of us were saying, ‘Surely this is Jesus, son of Joseph,
Whose father and mother we know. How can he now say,
“I have come down from heaven?”
Lord, now we all believe you are the real Bread from Heaven.

Jesus replied to them: 'In all truth I tell you,
If you do not eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood,
You have no life in you, anyone who does eat my flesh
And drink my blood has eternal life,
And I shall raise that person up on the last day.
For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me and I live in that person.'

'As the living Father sent me and I draw life from the Father,
So whoever eats me will also draw life from me.
This is the bread which has come down from heaven;
It is not like the bread our ancestors ate:
They are dead, but anyone who eats this bread will live for ever. ‘
Lord, we have heard and we believe in You.

Lord, you said that some of us do not believe what you said,
For Jesus knew from the outset who did not believe and who was to betray him.
He went on, ‘I told you that no one could come to me except by the gift of the Father.’
After this, many of his disciples went away and accompanied him no more.
They all left Jesus forever and they all lost the eternal grace

Then Jesus said to the Twelve, ‘What about you, do you want to go away too?’
Peter answered, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go?
You have the message of eternal life,’
Lord, we all believe; we have come to know that you are the Holy One of God.

Jesus replied to them, ‘Did I not choose the Twelve of you?
Yet one of you is a devil.’ He meant Judas, son of Simon Iscariot,
Since this was the man, one of the Twelve, who was to betray him.
Lord chose us as well to work for his Kingdom; bless us to be faithful.

On Holy Thursday, the Day of Passover,
It was your day you revealed the mystery of Eucharist.
Lord, you have ardently longed to eat this Passover with us before You suffer;
'I tell you, I shall never again drink wine until the day,
I drink the new wine with you in the kingdom of my Father.’

Then he took bread, and when he had given thanks,
He broke it and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body given for you;
Do this in remembrance of me.’
He did the same with the cup after supper, and said,
‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood poured out for you.'

Then, taking the cup, he gave thanks and said,
‘Take this and share it among you, because from now on,
I tell you, I shall never again drink wine until the kingdom of God comes.’
Lord, Your will has to be fulfilled to establish the New Everlasting Covenant.

Lord, you sat with disciples to have a meal with them.
You were deeply disturbed and declared,
‘In all truth I tell you, one of you is going to betray me.
Lord said; 'It is the one to whom I give the piece of bread that I dip in the dish.'
And when he had dipped the piece of bread
He gave it to Judas, son of Simon Iscariot.
At that instant, after Judas had taken the bread, Satan entered him.

Lord, if we receive you unworthily Satan is entering in us.
Lord, cleanse us by your precious  Blood.
In olden days, God commanded Levites of Israelites
To sprinkle the blood of animals on the sinners as a sign for the remission of sins.

Lord, you have inspired St Paul to reveal us
How to receive you worthily and in clear conscience.
St Paul said: For the tradition I received from the Lord
And also handed on to you is that on the night he was betrayed,
The Lord Jesus took some bread,
And after he had given thanks, he broke it, and he said,
‘This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.’

And in the same way, with the cup after supper, saying,
‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood.
Whenever you drink it, do this as a memorial of me.’
Whenever you eat this bread, then, and drink this cup,
You are proclaiming the Lord’s death until he comes.
Therefore anyone who eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily
 Are answerable for the body and blood of the Lord.

Lord, what offering I can bring to you, but only my sins,
I can only give what you have given me.
Lord, you offered your Body and Blood
As a sacrifice to Heavenly Father for the salvation of all of us

Melchizedek brought the gift of Bread and Wine
To see Abraham and bless him.
Melchizedek praised and thank God
For helping Abraham to win over his enemies.

Your death on the Cross in Calvery
Brought the salvation for all humanity.
You fulfilled the consecration of Eucharist
By sacrificing your own Body and Blood.

Lord, how divine the mystery of Eucharist
Is beyond our knowledge and imagination!
But you revealed it to us by your love and grace.
You have written these mysteries in our heart.

Lord, once I was dead and didn't know you.
But by your mercy and grace you revealed to me  that you are alive in the Eucharist.
Lord, You came down to meet me in the form of the Living Bread.
I was trembling and crying when I saw your blood-stained face in the living Bread.

Lord, how can I thank You in words
For this most wonderful gift of love you have given me!
How blessed are those who know this truth,
How blessed are those who eat Your Body and drink your Blood,
In a worthy manner to gain Eternal Life.
Oh most Holy Sacrament of the Alter, Oh Jesus we praise you and adore you, Amen!!

David a Man of God's Own Heart Poem 39

David a Man of God's Own Heart

David our father a prophet of God of His own heart
From his  dynasty Jesus Son of God came into this world
David, you are the first musician of the House of God
Lead all the musicians as a procession to glorify our God

David, In all his activities he gave thanks to the Holy One Most High
In words of glory; he put all his heart into his songs
To glorify God, out of his love towards his Creator
He placed singers before the altar, melodiously to sing;

He wrote many of Psalms to glorify and praise God
He gave the feasts their splendour, the festivals their solemnity
He made the Lord’s holy name to be praised
He kept the holy sanctuary of God to resound from dawn till evening

Lord, you took away the sins of David
Lord, you have blessed him and made his strength ever greater;
God gave him a royal covenant, and a glorious throne in Israel
God blessed him an everlasting Kingdom in the House of David

David, he arranged goods to build a temple for God
But God allowed the Temple to be built by his son Solomon
Jesus, you said the Temple of Jerusalem will be destroyed
Lord, you said 'You destroy this temple, I will build it in three days

Lord Jesus, you built the church on your Holy Blood
You Inspired the Church Fathers to lead His flocks the way You wish
Your Holy Sacrifice inspired many worldly people
They all were transformed their mind and heart to do your will

David wrote, 'Make music for The Lord, all you who are faithful to him,
Praise his unforgettable holiness.
Sing to him a new song,
Make sweet music for your cry of victory.'

Lord, what quantities of good things
You have in store for those who fear you,
Bestow on those who make you their refuge,
The great blessings for all the humanity to see.

How blessed the nation whose God is Lord,
The people he has chosen as his heritage.
Now I am old, but ever since my youth
I never saw an upright person abandoned, forced to beg their bread.

Lord, you made David to teach your flocks
How to  glorify and praise God in art and music
Lord, you gave us many musicians to glorify you
You lead many of their mind in knowledge to use their skills to write

Lord, we all are coming into your Sanctuary with David our father
Who has inspired us day and night by singing his Psalms
His Psalms are the prayers of the hours
Which was arranged as liturgy of the hours in the church

David, he inspired me to read and meditate Psalms
It gave consolation and strength for my soul
Lord, you gave me steadfastness in my prayer life
Lord, you allowed me to share his grace to sing new psalms

Lord, you strengthened my fingers to write new songs to praise you
How can I forget your all the blessings
They are more than the hair in my head
Lord, strengthen me and bless me with a grateful heart

Of all His mysteries and blessings through out the generations
He inspired many souls to praise and glorify God!
May be It's a mere drop of water in the ocean
Mother Theresa says 'even the drop of water is less to fill the ocean'

Lord, how can we all become the drop of water
Only you can make us to be the precious drop of water, the grace
Lord, You will make this water into a valuable pearl in the ocean
That will never find elsewhere until the eternity

David sang, 'I bless Lord, who is my counsellor,
Even at night my heart instructs me.
I keep Yahweh before me always,
For with him at my right hand, nothing can shake me.'

David said, 'I praise you to the heights, Lord , for you have raised me up,
You have not let my foes make merry over me.
Lord my God, I cried to you for help and you hold me
Lord, you have lifted me out of Sheol,

How much you have done, Lord, my God—
Your wonders, your plans for us and you have no equal.
I will proclaim and speak of them; and they are beyond number.
You wanted no sacrifice or cereal offering,

But you gave me an open ear,
You did not ask for burnt offering or sacrifice for sin;
Then I said, ‘Here I am, I am coming.’
In the scroll of the book it is written of me,

My delight is to do your will; your law, my God, is deep in my heart.
I proclaimed the saving justice of Lord in the great assembly.
See, I will not hold my tongue, as you well know.
I have spoken of your constancy and saving help.

Lord, St Augustin said, How I wept when I heard your hymns and canticles,
being deeply moved by the sweet singing of your Church.
Those voices flowed into my ears,
truth filtered into my heart, and from my heart surged waves of devotion.

When I meditate Psalms, the divine light gone through my heart
The pain and sorrows and suffering vanished
The Lord has taken away the sins and all vanities
Tears ran down, and I was happy in my tears.

Lord, we bless you and adore you for your wonderful gifts
Lord you anointed David to be the King of your Nation
Lord, David was Harp in your hand
He played it to make you happy fill your heart with sweet melodies

Blessed be the House of David, whom brought the Son of God in this world

Word of God Reflection I

A Study and Reflection on Sirach Chapter 39 : 1-11 Word of God Reflection Sirach 39:1 On 16th Nov 2024 Lord, help us to ponder Your Word day...
