The devotion to the Precious Blood is the devotion which unveils the physical realities of the Sacred Heart. The devotion to the Sacred Heart is the figurative expression of the qualities, dispositions, and genius of the Precious Blood – only that the figure is itself a living and adorable reality.” ~Father Frederick William Faber, The Precious Blood (1860)
Precious Blood of Jesus, Part VI
“Thou hast redeemed us, O Lord, in Thy blood, out of every tribe and tongue, and people, and nation, and hast made us to our God a kingdom.” - Introit from Feast of Precious Blood in Holy Mass
Lord, you have saved us from the slavery of sins by Your Precious blood.
1 Peter 1:18–19 (NJB): For you know that the price of your ransom from the futile way of life handed down from your ancestors was paid, not in anything perishable like silver or gold,19 but in precious blood as of a blameless and spotless lamb, Christ. See The Lord paid the highest payment to save us by purchasing for us His inheritance in the Kingdom of God. He paid a precious price for our salvation, which we cannot value: His own Precious Blood, poured out from His own Body and His Heart. The Old Testament and Prophets have indicated how He will shed his blood: Isaiah 50:6 (NJB): I have offered my back to those who struck me, my cheeks to those who plucked my beard; I have not turned my face away from insult and spitting. The soldiers has pierced his hands and legs as written in, Psalm 22:16–17 (NJB): A pack of dogs surrounds me, a gang of villains closing in on me as if to hack off my hands and my feet. 17 I can count every one of my bones. A blameless and spotless Lamb, by sacrificing His own body on the Cross in Calvary. Isaiah 53:5 (NJB): 5 whereas he was being wounded for our rebellions, crushed because of our guilt; the punishment reconciling us fell on him, and we have been healed by his bruises. He poured His own Blood as a libation and went into the abyss to save the souls in purgatory, from time of Noah. Isaiah 53:10 (NJB): It was Yahweh’s good pleasure to crush him with pain; if he gives his life as a sin offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his life, and through him Yahweh’s good pleasure will be done. Heavenly Father was happy by the sacrifice of His own Son, so He can see the offspring of Jesus as he gave his life for many abundantly. His Body was incorruptible and Apostles and many other saints has seen his risen wounded body He has risen from the dead after His invaluable mission of three days in Sheol to save the souls since the time of Noah. 1 Peter 3:18–19 (NJB): Christ himself died once and for all for sins, the upright for the sake of the guilty, to lead us to God. In the body he was put to death, in the spirit he was raised to life, 19 and, in the spirit, he went to preach to the spirits in prison
