Sacred Heart, Day 15

Lord, give us your Spirit, let our heart flow with your love and the streams of living water.

Jn 7: 37-39 On the last day, the great day of the festival, Jesus stood and cried out: ‘Let anyone who is thirsty come to me! 38 Let anyone who believes in me come and drink! As scripture says, “From his heart shall flow streams of living water.” 39 He was speaking of the Spirit which those who believed in him were to receive; for there was no Spirit as yet because Jesus had not yet been glorified. Jesus is telling those who are thirsty to come closer to him and believe in him, inviting us to drink the living water.  Here, Jesus invites us to come to him on one condition: we must believe in him as the Son of the Living God. Our hearts shall flow with streams of live water, which is the Spirit of God. Our hearts should be filled with Jesus' love; in this way, we shall pour out his love from inside, which is true evangelism. Following his death and resurrection, Jesus sends his Spirit to strengthen us.
