Light and Darkness

Part XIV

We must recognise the forces of darkness who will always come into our daily spiritual lives to derail us from the actual Truth. When I first met Jesus, my intellect was illuminated by the joy of the Holy Spirit. Since 1992, I've been going from one Retreat Center to another, and it's been a continual phenomena. It was only ambition that drove me to seek Jesus in all of his completeness. But Jesus found me in the wilderness and taught me about him. The greatest spiritual endeavour is to seek and find Jesus.

I had the experience by the interaction with so many kinds of spiritual teachers of other denominations. They have the zeal for God, what was lacking in them was the discernment 1Corinthians 12:10 (NJB): to another, the working of miracles; to another, prophecy; to another, the power of distinguishing spirits; to one, the gift of different tongues and to another the interpretation of tongues, and knowledge of the real truth ‘that is the Word of God’ Jon. 17:17. Later I came to know that the Word of God is the truth which is missing from these so called Retreat Centers. They always describe about the visions and revelations to make glorify themselves in good oratory with pleasing word to attract people. They always come to approach us in their own strength and intelligence. Jesus says: ‘You are wrong, because you understand neither the scriptures nor the power of God.’(Matt. 22: 29) They were always wrong, because they do not understand the scriptures and the power of God. There will be so many teachers will come in our spiritual life. But we should have only one father, the spiritual father and he will be giving us the birth in Christ Jesus. ‘For even though you might have ten thousand slaves to look after you in Christ, you still have no more than one father, land it was I who fathered you in Christ Jesus, by the Gospel.’ (1 Cor. 4: 14.)
