The Words of Jesus 

Meditating the Words of Jesus from Holy Scriptures

In the old testament the punishment for any crime or law breaking was so severe. Moses was given this law by God to live by it for the Israelites. People receive the same punishment regardless of what they have done to other people. 38 ‘You have heard how it was said: Eye for eye and tooth for tooth. 39 But I say this to you: offer no resistance to the wicked. On the contrary, if anyone hits you on the right cheek, offer him the other as well; The New Jerusalem Bible. (1985). (Mt 5:38–39). Jesus teaches in differant way of love and compassion. His love towards outhers is unconditional and no kind of retaliation is there in his mind towards even on his enemies. 18 You will not exact vengeance on, or bear any sort of grudge against, the members of your race, but will love your neighbour as yourself. I am Yahweh. We will never ponder any kind of grudges or enemity towards others, istead Jesus teaches us love our neighbours even they are our enemies. Jesus is going far beyond in the matter of love our neighbours  This is my commandment: love one another, as I have loved you. 13 No one can have greater love than to lay down his life for his friends. (NJB Jn 15:12–13) Jesus is asking us to go further in the sense of love, even his is asking us to give our life for others if needed any such situation.
