Jesus Son of God, crucified and died on the Cross by shedding His own Blood
Ezekiel 43:18 (NJB): He said to me, ‘Son of man, the Lord Yahweh says this, “As regards the altar, this is how things must be done when it has been built for the sacrifice of the burnt offering and for the pouring of blood. Jesus built the Alter for his sacrifice, the Cross on Calvery and then after his death and resurrection, we bulit multitude of Alters in the most beautiful Catholic Churches around the world to repeat his sacrifice at every moment. We should never fail the memory of his own sacrifice from our heart. The Alter resembles where his Crucifix is in presence. The priests celebrate the Mass and consecrate the bread and wine by facing the crucifix symbolising the sacrifice of Jesus Body on the Cross by shedding his Precious Blood and ending with his death. For us, we should always remember the crucified Christ and that is the essence of our faith.
