Tune our heart to wisdom, understanding and knowledge of God

   Pr 2: 1-5 My child, if you take my words to heart, if you set store by my commandments, 2 tuning your ear to wisdom, tuning your heart to understanding, 3 yes, if your plea is for clear perception, if you cry out for understanding, 4 if you look for it as though for silver, search for it as though for buried treasure, 5 then you will understand what the fear of Yahweh is, and discover the knowledge of God. This Word of God is highly significant, and God gives numerous instructions much like a parent teaches or advises his children. We should tune our ears to wisdom and our hearts to understand what God is saying to us. Whenever we ask God for something, we should do it with a clear understanding of how God reveals Himself. Many treasures are concealed in the Kingdom of God, which God has prepared for each of us.                               

   What shall we ask God, like a beggar, for wisdom and understanding in order to know Him. Then He will teach and give us the knowledge and fear of God. Apostle St Mathew has written in the Gospel about the buried treasure. Matthew 13:44 (NJB): The kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hidden in a field which someone has found; he hides it again, goes off in his joy, sells everything he owns and buys the field. We have to strive for this treasure, hidden by God, but He will reveal to us, if we have the gentle, humble and contrite heart and tremble at God’s Word as says in Isaiah 66:2 (NJB): But my eyes are drawn to the person of humbled and contrite spirit, who trembles at my word

The Feast of Corpus Christi

 

  Jesus established the New Covenant by spilling his own blood on the cross at Calvary. Jesus sat with his followers to eat the Passover supper, which foreshadowed the eternal meal the Eucharist, consisting of his body and blood, which would give them eternal life.  Before his passion and death, Jesus wishes to reveal to them the most holy mystery, 'the Everlasting Covenant,' which was our Heavenly Fathers' plan for the salvation of all humanity.

  We are very much privileged to share in this Most Divine Meal; Body and Blood the Eucharist. Jesus institutes the Eucharist: ‘Then he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, ‘this is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ He did the same with the cup after supper, and said, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood poured out for you.’ (Luke. 22: 19-20) He poured out his own blood to save us from evil and lead us to salvation for making us the heirs of His Kingdom. ‘Yes Lord, you are the bread of life, and through this eternal bread you are sharing everything belongs to you!  ‘I am the bread of life. No one who comes to me will ever hunger; no one who believes in me will ever thirst.’ (Jon 6: 35)

   When the people searched Jesus again for the matters of this world, Jesus said to them:  ‘In truth I tell you, you are looking for me not because you have seen the signs but because you had all the bread you wanted to eat. Do not work for the food that goes bad, but work for food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of man will give you, for on him the Father, God himself, has set his seal.’ (Jon. 6: 26-27)Jesus is the eternal food which will endures us the eternal life. The eternal life will be our ultimate aim to achieve from Christ. God created us only for this purpose and nothing else. Because of our greediness and pride in possessions are the main reasons; that Lord is not abiding in our heart. ‘For God created human beings to be immortal, he made them as an image of his own nature ’ Wis. 2: 23 His ultimate aim is to give us the eternal life to unite with Him. That’s So God made His own Son to become a sacrifice for the remission of the sin for ‘many’. “Christ too, having offered himself only once to bear the sin of many, to manifest himself ……..” Heb. 9: 28.

   Jesus said to them, that he is the true brea, ‘It is my Father who gives you the bread from heaven, the true bread; for the bread of God is the bread which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.’ (Jon. 6:32-33) Jesus himself is the bread of life, which Heavenly Father brought from heaven for the salvation of His whole creation, which was His own plan and revealed through the secret mysteries hidden in His Words. They asked Jesus to give them this bread of life. Jesus will be our food and drink; he is everything to us, and the only One who will guide us to the Father’s House. When people of Israel asked for the food, God brought the heavenly Manna and Quail for them to eat.

   We should not have any doubt about Jesus and about the Word of God. The disciples start grumbling and they could not believe his words or he is the Son of God. Then Jesus said to them: ‘I am the bread that has come down from heaven.’ They were saying, ‘surely this Jesus son of Joseph, whose father and mother, we knows.’ How can him now say, “I have come down from heaven” (Jon. 6:41-42) All of them seeing Jesus through their external eyes and their internal eyes are blinded by the evil spirit.

   Many years ago, Br. Joemon while giving a talk about the Eucharist he said: ‘Many Christian denominations still not believe in the mystery of the transubstantiation of the bread into Body and wine into Blood of Jesus Christ and for us Catholics this is essence of our worship.’ Jesus himself says about this act of consecration to be done on his remembrance of establishing the New Covenant. ‘Then he broke the bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me. He did the same with the cup after supper, and said, ‘This cup is the New Covenant in my blood poured out for you. ‘1Cr 11: 26 He is the Lamb of God, the true sacrifice and the fullness of all other sacrifices. There is no other sacrifice greater than our Lord’s own sacrifice on the Cross in Calvary and it is very important as Br Joemon explained.

  No one, but our Lord Jesus Christ, can make such an offering to God our Father in order to save us, all of humanity. He is God's only Son, so His contribution is the most precious and significant. God made him the only sacrifice for the salvation of all humanity. That is why it is an everlasting sacrifice, and it will endure forever, Amen! Those who ignore this mystery are heretics, enemies of Jesus and his kingdom.. 1 John 2:22 (NJB): Who is the liar, if not one who claims that Jesus is not the Christ? This is the Antichrist, who denies both the Father and the Son. They are the Antichrists. They doubted Jesus and were thinking how they will eat the flesh of a man and drink his blood. It is impossible to understand as if we think in human way, and scrutinise these heavenly things with our own intelligence. Jesus said to them with great pain in his heart: ‘No one can come to me unless drawn by the Father who sent me, and I will raise that person up on the last day.’ (Jon. 6:44)We cannot come closer to Jesus unless Heavenly Father allows us to approach him. When we come to know Jesus and approach him wholeheartedly, then we will realise this; that he is the gift of God. Jesus again told them, ‘He went on, ‘This is why I told you that no one could come to me except by the gift of the Father.’ Jon. 6: 65. Again Jesus said to them: ‘I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate manna in the desert and they are dead; but this is the bread which comes down from heaven, so that a person may eat it and not die. 51 I am the living bread which has come down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live for ever; and the bread that I shall give is my flesh, for the life of the world.’ (Jon.6: 48-51)Death will not approach us if we eat His Body and drink His Blood with genuine reverence and purity. When the priest consecrates the bread and wine, it is done in a celestial manner and according to the plan of celestial Father. It is happening through the prayer that Jesus proclaimed to the Heavenly Father. Jesus said: ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me. Then he said: ‘This cup is the New Covenant in my blood poured out for you. (which our Lord proclaimed while establishing the Eucharist). Jesus told unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood ……. John 6:53–56 (NJB): 53 Jesus replied to them: In all truth I tell you, if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Anyone who does eat my flesh and drink my blood has eternal life, and I shall raise that person up on the last day. 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me and I live in that person. Jesus is saying to all of us to eat his flesh and blood to live in him and he will live in us. So the Holy Mass is the real sacrifice the enactment of the sacrifice on the Cross on Calvary. Then whatever Jesus has said is fulfilled and it is not a mere meal but the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.

  Jesus says clearly that he will not share this Passover or supper till he finish the will of God. When will be the wish of Heavenly Father would fulfill? By Jesus’ Passion, death and resurrection it will be fulfilled.‘I have ardently longed to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; because I tell, I shall not eat it until is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.’ Lk. 22: 15-16 Again Jesus said by raising the chalice: ‘Because from now on, I tell you, I shall never again drink wine until the kingdom of God comes. Lk. 22: 18. If it was a mere meal Jesus would not say do this Sacrifice of Mass in the remembrance of him. “because I tell, I shall not eat it until is fulfilled.” That means it is not just the Passover Meal, but also the Eucharist, which was made possible by his own sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary. When he stated "It is fulfilled" on the cross, it was fulfilled. His flesh and blood became the Body and Blood of the Eucharist, which is superior to all earthly feasts but has been changed into the Divine Meal that came down from Heaven. Jesus instituted the Eucharist, the Everlasting Covenant, by sacrificing his own body and blood, which no other god can provide on earth or in heaven.

Oh, Most Blessed Holy Sacrament

Oh, Jesus, my sweetheart and love

Oh, meek and humble of heart

Make my heart like yours

Lord, You brought us the food from heaven

Your Body and Blood for our salvation

Lord, am unworthy to receive the Holy Eucharist

But Your immense mercy and love, enable me to have it.

Oh, Most Holy Name to be honoured

Jesus, my Lord, live in the holy Tabernacle

Maketh yourself the humblest bread

To share your eternal glory with us

Oh Lord, sanctify my body and soul

Oh Lord, of our fathers’, who loved you endlessly

Purify my heart and open my eyes

To see your glory till the end of my days

Lord, how much I was longing for You

To be in your House

To receive Your Heavenly Meal

And I am pleased to have You day after day

Lord, you are the eternal grace and salvation

I plead to you, my Lord, lighten my burden.

Lord, you poured all the blessings on your people

To lead them and make them the rulers of the world

Lord, wash me with your precious Blood

Sanctify me, with hyssop till...I am clean

Lord, let my words always to praise you

All my gestures always to praise you

Lord, let all my wishes to praise you

Let all creatures of the seas, lands and sky praise you

Lord, You embrace me with Your love

And come into my flesh, immerse Your Body into me

Lord, let your Blood come into my blood

And make me one with You in flesh and blood

Lord, my hearts’ only desire is to praise you

Lord, I thank you for everything, You have done for me

Let my happiness; always to be with you

Lord, give me your love and grace to abide in you

Sacred Heart of Jesus Day 1 June 1, 2024

This month, beginning today, is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We Catholics are fortunate that our Church has various seasons during which we can celebrate, pray, and receive God's graces. 

Mt 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: they shall see God.

How blessed a person will be if he or she has a pure heart. The greatest blessing in our lives is knowing and seeing Jesus, the Son of God. When we approach God with a humble and holy heart, we see our Lord and can speak with him face to face. When we meet him, our hearts will rejoice and we will no longer be concerned with the things of this world, but with eternity.

Part XXXXVIII

Lord, let your light shine out of darkness

The False Prophets 

  When we are in darkness, we are more likely to commit sins. So we should leave the darkness and encounter the light of Jesus, as this is the only way for us to enter into salvation. Let us pray for God's pity on our wretchedness and disobedience to His commands. False prophets will approach us in an attempt to divert us from the faith; we must learn how to avoid them. Only our complete faith in Christ Jesus will allow us to discern what is good and what is evil. Jeremiah 23:11–12 (NJB): Yes, even prophet and priest are godless, I have detected their wickedness in my own House, Yahweh declares. 12 Because of this, their way will prove treacherous going for them; in the darkness where they are driven, there they will fall. For I shall bring disaster on them, when the year for punishing them comes, Yahweh declares. 

  We should have at least a spiritual father and spiritual teachers to help us study and follow the way of Christ Jesus. We do not need to worry about it; God will send us spiritual fathers or spiritual teachers at the appropriate moment. Then we shall come to know the truth that is hidden in the Scriptures, the Word of God, who is Jesus himself. (John 17:17 (NJB): Consecrate them in the truth; your word is truth.)

  God created the darkness and light, the light always shine out of darkness. Our hearts are enlighten by Jesus, the real light came on earth to live in our midst to bring us closer to God to know Him and live eternally in His Trinitarian love. God brought Jesus Christ into this world to reveal the glory of God on the face of Christ. When we see Jesus, we see the Father in Heaven and we experience God’s unconditional love he poured on us. 2 Corinthians 4:6 (NJB): 6 It is God who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ that has shone into our hearts to enlighten them with the knowledge of God’s glory, the glory on the face of Christ.

  Isaiah 45:3 (NJB): 3 I shall give you secret treasures and hidden hoards of wealth, so that you will know that I am Yahweh, who call you by your name, the God of Israel. God will give us spiritual wealth and hidden treasures, which are all hidden in Jesus Christ. God sent Jesus into the world to make all of us His children. All of this will be learned by silently pondering on the Holy Scriptures at Jesus' feet, as Mary, Martha's and Lazer's sister, did. Our humility and gentleness causes the Lord to open our hearts and minds so that we can listen to Him and understand the mysteries of His kingdom. God will reveal the secret treasures of the darkness, allowing us to understand the operations of evil. Then we shall know He is the Lord, since He called us by name. We will not come to know Jesus unless we are aware of the acts of darkness. Knowing Jesus leads us to know the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, the Holy Trinity.

Part XXXXVI

Lord, let Your Light brings us the uprightness and uplift our faith in You

  Jesus' act of passion and death on the Cross had a profoundly redeeming impact that we cannot comprehend. When I read these verses, I have a wonderful experience of his magnificent trip to sacrifice himself on the Cross. The audience that followed him consisted of people from all walks of life, both physically and spiritually. On his route to Calvary, Jesus stripped and paraded all of the ruling forces to demonstrate how he would bear the sacrifice on the Cross and bring salvation to all humanity. Jesus transformed the shameful crucifixion into the triumphant cross of his death. He has wiped  all our debt to the Law and nailed everything on the Cross which none can do either in heaven or on earth. Colossians 2:14–15 (NJB): He has wiped out the record of our debt to the Law, which stood against us; he has destroyed it by nailing it to the cross; 15 and he has stripped the sovereignties and the ruling forces, and paraded them in public, behind him in his triumphal procession. 

  Lord is telling us through Apostle Paul about the life of darkness and light to distinguish them. ‘Do not harness yourselves in and uneven team with unbelievers; how can uprightness and law-breaking be partners, or what can light and darkness have in common? How can Christ come to an agreement with Belial and what sharing can there be between a believer and an unbeliever? The temple of God cannot compromise with false gods, and that is what we are—the temple of the living God….’ (2 Cor. 6: 14- 16) There is no compromise between light and dark. Those who live in sin are in darkness; they are simply worldly folks who know nothing about Jesus and his Kingdom. They are unaware of the genuine Truth (Jesus is the Truth). We shouldn't associate with them. They are ordinary individuals who lack understanding of God and His wisdom. How can we collaborate with them on any beneficial works in God's Kingdom. They worship false gods and have no knowledge of the actual God. When we believe in one God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we are unique. The secular doctrine misleads the majority of Christians, as does ecumenical collaboration with false religions, communities, and heretics. Br. Victor taught us about the actuality of the Spirit, which lives in the Catholic Church. We should seek the truth from God's Holy Spirit. We can wait patiently for the Holy Spirit's response to get real guidance. He will teach us what to do and what not do. ‘And so shall it be also when you separate the sacred from the profane, the unclean from the clean.’ (Lev. 10: 10) We cannot compromise with them or any kind of collaboration with them. They have no knowledge of what is holy and unholy things. Br. Victor told in one of his talk: ‘If you start business with any pagan or any non believer in Christ, your business will snatched away from you in few years and they will take over you and will loose all your money and wealth.’ St. Paul again says about such peoples: ‘In other words, since they would not consent to acknowledge of God, God abandoned them to their unacceptable thoughts and indecent behaviour. And so now they are steeped in all sorts of injustice, rottenness, greed and malice; full of envy, murder, wrangling, treachery and spite, libellers, slanderers, enemies of God, rude, arrogant and boastful, enterprising in evil, rebellious to parents, without brains, honour, love or pity. They are well aware of God’s ordinance: that those who believe like this deserve to die—yet they not only do it, but even applaud others who do the same.’ (Rom. 1: 28-32) Our lives should not be like this, and we should not disobey the Law of our Lord. Heretical doctrine and deceptive doctrines will reach us, including from close Church associates. But we are endowed with the best, which was bestowed upon us by our Spiritual Founder, Br. Victor, and his companion Br. Shaji. Their teachings were the undiluted Word of God, as imparted by our Brothers.  ‘At least we do not adulterate the word of God, so many do, but it is in all purity, as envoys of God and in God’s presence that we speak in Christ.’(1Cor. 2:17)

Part XXXXV 

Lord,  May the words of my mouth always find favour, and the whispering of my heart, in your presence. 

  We should have:‘the power of distinguishing the spirits.’ (1Cor. 12:10) This is the strongest foundation of our congregation and our charism, which Br. Victor passed down to us through his followers (our Brs) through his unwavering faith, conviction, and love for Jesus, a true apostolic grace. Lord, teach us the experiences of darkness and bring us into His light. If we do not understand the work of darkness, how can we resist it when it comes? After we have experienced the work of darkness, we will come to the light of Jesus. We must hold firm in our faith, which requires complete separation from the world and attachment to our Lord alone. We have to learn and begin praying continually and constantly. We must examine our conscience in order to atone for our failures. We must never be afraid to seek for forgiveness from others, and we must begin forgiving our enemies. Then we will begin praying for our adversaries. As a result, we shall be free of animosity and filled with the joy and peace of Jesus Christ. We will gain a clear conscience, as St. Paul says: ‘My brothers, to this day I have conducted myself before God with perfectly clear conscience.’(Acts 23: 1) 

   We should not have any ambitions of this world and we should not seek any pleasures of this world. All the ambitions of this world guide us to the natural inclinations and wealth of this world and it will lead us to do sins. Only Lord can reveal our hidden sin, and who can detect our sins. ‘But who can detect his own failings? Wash away my hidden faults. And from pride preserve your servant, never let it be my master. So shall I be above reproach, free from grave sin. May words of my mouth always find favour, and the whispering of my heart, in your presence, Yahweh, my rock, my redeemer.’(Ps. 19: 12-14) Once start experiencing the light we start to know the work of darkness by the grace of Jesus our Lord. Then He will show us the treasures of darkness. ‘I shall give you the secret treasures hidden hoards of wealth…’(Is. 45:3) Br  Victor always says that, we should understand the work of evil and then only we know value and depth of the Kingdom of God. Evil has many secret ways of darkness which will makes us imprisonment to work for Satan and his kingdom. Watch and ward of each of our steps and it is very easy to fall into that dungeon that is call Gehenna, the hell.

Part XXXXV 

Lord, lead us to the uprightness and holiness of Your Truth 

   Here, St Paul emphasizes that we should not live as gentiles do. We are getting the blessings and teachings of Jesus through his Apostles and Evangelists to comprehend the mysteries of the Kingdom of God. When we ignore the Church's doctrines and traditions, we become detached from God's life. When we disobey God's Commandments, we lose our senses and find it difficult to maintain self-control, potentially leading to a sinful life. Then we will have closed minds, think logically rather than spiritually, and engage in every type of uncleanness.  Ephesians 4:17–24 (NJB): 17 So this I say to you and attest to you in the Lord, do not go on living the empty-headed life that the gentiles live. 18 Intellectually they are in the dark, and they are estranged from the life of God, because of the ignorance which is the consequence of closed minds. 19 Their sense of right and wrong once dulled, they have abandoned all self-control and pursue to excess every kind of uncleanness. 20 Now that is hardly the way you have learnt Christ, 21 unless you failed to hear him properly when you were taught what the truth is in Jesus. 22 You were to put aside your old self, which belongs to your old way of life and is corrupted by following illusory desires. 23 Your mind was to be renewed in spirit 24 so that you could put on the New Man that has been created on God’s principles, in the uprightness and holiness of the truth.

   We should comprehend the distinction between good and bad, or good and evil. We should seek for the truth found in Jesus and read the Holy Scriptures to get clarity of mind, then we will realize the distinction between darkness and light. Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call what is bad, good, and what is good, bad, who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness, who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Lord, we do not know how to distinguish the light and the darkness and we are in misery. Lord, the fear of darkness is haunting us  day and night. Bring your light to overcome the fear ness. 1Thessalonians 5:4–7 (NJB): But you, brothers, do not live in the dark, that the Day should take you unawares like a thief. 5 No, you are all children of light and children of the day: we do not belong to the night or to darkness, 6 so we should not go on sleeping, as everyone else does, but stay wide awake and sober. 7 Night is the time for sleepers to sleep and night the time for drunkards to be drunk, We should live in the light of Jesus rather than in the darkness of evil. We are not the children of night or darkness, but of the light, Jesus Christ. St Paul reminds us to rise up at night to pray; night is for sleepers and drunkards to drink. Let us offer the following prayer to Jesus, our Lord:

A prayer from heart……...

Lord, teach me how to pray to you with all my heart

Lord, let your Holy Face shine on me,

to do your will, with your Love and Mercy. 

Lord, cleanse me with your Precious Blood, 

and make my heart like yours. 

Lord, let me have the spirit of prayer, 

through pondering, your Holy Word. 

O’ Lord, let me know your will,

and make me a humble servant of your Holy Garden Amen!
